LearnQuest Controlled Beta Terms of Service

Please review these Terms of Service carefully prior to participating in the LearnQuest Controlled Beta Program. By accessing our web portals or mobile game clients, you agree to comply with these terms on behalf of yourself and registered learners.

⚠️ Controlled Beta Legal Notice

This document represents a beta platform terms of service draft. It requires formal legal counsel review prior to public production commercial distribution.

1. Beta Participation & Program Scope

LearnQuest is currently operating as an invitation-controlled, monitored educational beta platform. The purpose of this beta is to validate gameplay pedagogy, adaptive learning models, platform stability, and administrative tooling across Grades 3–5.

Features are provided on an "as-is" and "as-available" basis. While we strive for 99.9% uptime and maintain automated database snapshots, occasional scheduled maintenance windows or diagnostic resets may occur during testing periods.

2. Parental Responsibility & Learner Supervision

In compliance with COPPA, all student profiles must be created by a parent, legal guardian, or authorized school administrator. Parents and educators are responsible for:

  • Maintaining the confidentiality of their primary account credentials and one-time invitation links.
  • Setting appropriate daily screen time and gameplay limits through the Parent Portal controls.
  • Reviewing weekly learning summaries and diagnostic assessment performance records.

3. Acceptable Use & Child Safety Safeguards

LearnQuest is an educational environment designed exclusively for children. To maintain a secure, constructive environment:

  • Users may not reverse engineer, decompile, or tamper with client communication protocols or server authoritative scoring systems.
  • Automated scraping, denial-of-service attempts, or credential stuffing attacks will result in immediate IP banning and legal notification.
  • No unmoderated chat, external link sharing, or peer-to-peer file transfers exist in the student client to eliminate grooming, bullying, or inappropriate content risks.

4. Intellectual Property & Curriculum Rights

All game worlds (Number City, Word Kingdom, Science Island), pedagogical quest structures, diagnostic question banks, audio assets, Nova tutoring persona characters, and trademarks are the exclusive proprietary property of LearnQuest Inc.

Parents and schools are granted a revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access the platform solely for educational non-commercial purposes during the beta program.

5. Beta Pricing, Mock Billing & Commercial Terms

During this controlled beta release, all beta invitations, full game world access, and diagnostic reporting are provided free of charge to approved cohort participants.

Notice: No live payment cards are processed during this phase (PAYMENTS_ENABLED=false). Subscription entitlements shown in your account reflect sandbox mock tier allocations.

6. Account Termination & Data Deletion

You may withdraw from the beta at any time by requesting permanent account deletion via Account Security & Data Rights. LearnQuest reserves the right to suspend or terminate beta access for accounts that violate safety guidelines or platform integrity.
